The Role

Reporting to the CFO, this senior commercial finance role supports multi-site operations across NZ. You'll lead planning, forecasting, and performance analysis, partnering with operational leaders to drive results and influence decision-making.

Based in Highbrook, this is a highly visible role with regular engagement across branches and leadership teams. A key focus is building trusted relationships with operational stakeholders, supporting branch managers to take ownership of their numbers, and enhancing financial literacy across the business.

This role has one direct report – a Commercial Analyst.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Budgeting, forecasting and planning across NZ operations
  • Financial modelling and business case development
  • Performance reporting, margin and costing analysis
  • Market and competitor analysis to support strategic decisions
  • Capex evaluation and ROI analysis across initiatives
  • Partnering with branch managers to improve financial ownership
  • Supporting Power BI reporting and dashboard development
  • Driving process improvement and systems optimisation
  • Engaging with operational leaders to influence performance

The Person

You bring strong commercial acumen and an understanding of operations, paired with strong modelling capability and clear, pragmatic communication.

You're curious and approachable, with the ability to simplify financial concepts and build effective relationships across the business. Whether it's helping a branch manager understand margin drivers or supporting operational teams with actionable insights, you'll influence outcomes through trust, clarity and collaboration.

You'll need to demonstrate:

  • Proven commercial finance experience in complex environments
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence, support and challenge across the business
  • Comfortable working on-site and partnering directly with operations
  • Skilled in simplifying financial concepts for non-finance audiences
  • Ideally experience in manufacturing or product industries
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
  • ERP systems experience
  • CA, CPA or CIMA qualification
