About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Steel Fixer to join our team in Christchurch. This role offers multiple steel fixing opportunities across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. You will play a key role in our skilled construction team, ensuring high-quality concrete structures are delivered safely and efficiently.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Fabricating, cutting, bending, and tying steel reinforcement to specification.
  • Installing steel bars, mesh, and other reinforcement in preparation for concrete pours.
  • Reading and interpreting structural drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Collaborating with concreters and other trades to ensure smooth project delivery.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant worksite at all times.
  • Conducting inspections and ensuring all steel fixing work meets quality and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Steel Fixer (qualification not compulsory but skillset must meet trade standard).
  • Proficient in handling hand and power tools related to steel fixing.
  • Proven experience delivering high-quality reinforcement work, particularly on residential and commercial projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
