We're looking for a dedicated
Occupational Health Nurse
to join our team at
Silver Fern Farms
. In this role, you'll provide occupational health services including first-line injury treatment, rehabilitation, and health monitoring. You'll work closely with managers and staff to ensure injured employees return to full health quickly and efficiently, while promoting wellness and preventing workplace injuries.

The hours for this role will be predominantly nightshift based between the months November and July.

Roster would be Monday to Friday, 3x nights minimum per week, and 2x days per week. Night Shift 1pm-9pm and Day Shift 7am-3.30pm.

Ōu Pūkenga / About You

  • Registered Nurse (Comprehensive or Enrolled) qualification.
  • Experience in occupational health, injury management, and rehabilitation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and positive relationships.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy and confidence using systems for reporting and case management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and emergency medical response to employees, ensuring timely and effective care.
  • Conduct regular health checks and occupational health monitoring, identifying potential risks and implementing preventive measures.
  • Assist with ACC claims, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing.
  • Manage and maintain first aid and emergency equipment, conducting regular audits and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Site Risk team to develop and implement health and safety initiatives, promoting a culture of well-being.
  • Educate and train employees on health and safety practices, fostering a proactive approach to workplace health.
  • Maintain accurate records of medical incidents, treatments, and health assessments, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Work closely with the HR team to support employee health and wellness programs, contributing to a holistic approach to employee care.
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and advancements in occupational health, continuously improving our healthcare services.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a current practicing certificate.
  • Post-graduate qualification in Occupational Health Nursing or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in a similar occupational health nursing role, preferably within the agricultural or manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent clinical skills and a strong understanding of first aid and emergency response protocols.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide empathetic care.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload effectively.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and relevant software.
  • Flexibility to work varied shift patterns, including evenings and weekends, as required.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with industry trends.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different sites as needed.
