  • Permanent, full time role (37.5 hours per week)
  • Salary range $75-$85k per year

The role will primarily support the Line Operations Manager and the Pacifica team in effectively managing day-to-day operations for Pacifica Shipping vessels, with a focus on delivering and improving operational performance.

Some of the key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Operations

  • Facilitate supply of free one-way (FOW) use containers by constant liaison with other container suppliers being shipping lines, leasing companies etc.
  • Manage the release to customers of the FOW containers along with the PAC containers ex Auckland.
  • Container forecasting for the total Pacifica business to the Logistics team
  • Ensure the Pacifica Container fleet utilisation is maximised by early dehire of containers and applying detention where applicable .
  • Take on operational tasks from the Line Operations Manager (LOM)
  • Assist with various logistics' Project's as required, including supplier reviews covering road, sea and rail.
  • Vessel scheduling by liaising with ports for windows, manage bunker times with ports and vessel management team, take into consideration work rest hours, distribute to internal and external parties and manage delays in conjunction with wider Pacifica team as required.
  • Capacity management - assist with ensuring capacity constraints are managed with input from Pacifica commercial.
  • Ensure Pacifica systems for scheduling, capacity and equipment are maintained and updated.
  • Assist with claims and ensuring costs are recovered where possible, and with special cargo requests and pricing.

Procurement / Transport

  • Oversee invoice processing and review options to improve processes.
  • Monitor daily movements of owned and or leased containers, including containers sourced by third parties.
  • Maintain procedures and ensure they are constantly followed

Skills / experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree or graduate certificate/diploma in Management / Supply Chain
  • Minimum 5 years' operational experience in shipping or similar role within supply chain
  • Experience in ERP systems, specifically in SAP and Cargowise
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong customer relationship skills and proven track record of improving service delivery
  • Focus on accuracy, timeliness and teamwork
