As our Loss Prevention Officer, you'll play a vital role in protecting our store's success. Your vigilance will help ensure our property, merchandise, cash, and people remain safe and secure, while upholding the Mitre 10 MEGA image through exceptional customer service and professionalism.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, your key responsibilities include:

  • Reducing shrinkage by promoting profit protection across all store areas — Retail, Garden, and Trade.
  • Creating and maintaining a secure environment for customers and team members.
  • Educating and supporting staff to detect and deter theft and fraud.
  • Liaising with local police and other retailers to share intelligence on known offenders.
  • Keeping the team informed with regular updates and training, including photographic evidence where available.
  • Safely apprehending shoplifters using approved techniques.

What we're looking for:

  • Previous experience in loss prevention or security is ideal, but not essential.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and think on your feet.
  • Strong integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
  • A quick, alert mind with resilience and resourcefulness.
  • Commitment to delivering a fantastic customer experience.

This role requires flexibility across store opening hours and includes one weekend day per week.
