Our climate is changing, and Aotearoa's water industry is evolving. At Jacobs, our Water Infrastructure team are working on projects across New Zealand and supporting projects in Australia, the Pacific and worldwide.
It's an exciting time to join the Water team – we've secured multiple major infrastructure projects and multi-year contracts with leading public and private clients. These include multi-disciplinary treatment plant, conveyance and scheme design projects which leverage on our global expertise working closely with our Auckland team for local delivery.
We are looking for two roles as exceptional
Principal Civil Engineer
&
Senior Associate Civil Engineer
to drive strategic growth and technical excellence in the Auckland region. You will lead and deliver complex water infrastructure projects in Auckland, driving sustainable engineering solutions that address the region's unique infrastructure challenges.
The purpose of these roles is to provide specialised Technical Service at an expert level, developing solutions to (potentially) highly complex problems requiring a complete understanding of practices, techniques, concepts and theoretical principles. Helping to guide and mentor our existing design team will also play a key portion of your role, to help the next generation of civil engineers grow into infrastructure leaders.
Your role combines technical expertise and team mentorship, with strategic client engagement, focusing on innovative and environmentally responsible water infrastructure design that meets the evolving needs of Auckland and New Zealand's broader water management strategies.
As a seasoned professional deeply embedded in Auckland's water infrastructure landscape, you'll leverage your local insights to anticipate client needs, understand their strategic future plans, and provide invaluable advisory services in the region's infrastructure development.
Here's what you'll need
- Qualified Civil Engineer with professional recognition
- 15+ years' experience (Principal) and 10+ years' experience (Senior Associate) in water infrastructure planning, design, and construction
- Proven track record of technical leadership and project management
- Exceptional client relationship and communication skills
- Strong ability to build and lead high-functioning teams
We work as a highly collaborative group across ANZ, resourcing projects with staff from across the region with the support of world-leading global expertise in water.
