We are seeking to recruit two Indian chefs for our restaurant business in Christchurch.

Duties may include:

· Plan menus

· Cost control and budgeting

· Understanding the customer dietary requirements and ensuring orders are prepared as per the instructions

· Examining orders to ensure quality at all stages of prepration and servings

· Have knowledge of Indian curries ,spices and tandoor.

· Taking feedback from the stakeholders and improving the products

· Ensure a great presentation by dressing the dishes before they are served.

· Keep a sanitised and orderly environment in the kitchen.

· Maintaining appropriate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.

· Undertaking stock control and ordering supplies

· Ensuring that the food is stored in temperature-controlled facilities.

· Able to train other kitchen staff and waiters.

· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Skills and experience for the role:

· Two years of relevant work experience

· Excellent knowledge of Indian food and spices

· Free from drugs and a criminal history. May be required to undergo background checks

· Physical fitness

· Good personal and communication skills

· Able to work rostered shifts and available during weekends

· Good people and communication skills

· Positive work references

Minimum 30 hours a week.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
