We are seeking a Senior Food Technologist to lead New Product Development and product improvement initiatives across a high-volume bakery and flatbread manufacturing business.

Based just 2 hours drive from the Melbourne CBD, this role offers the chance to make a real impact while enjoying a relaxed regional lifestyle and a supportive, close-knit team environment. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

You will drive concept development, product trials, formulation improvements, and commercial launches across retail, foodservice, and private-label channels. This is a hands-on, collaborative technical role with genuine influence across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading end-to-end NPD projects from concept to launch
• Driving product renovation, value engineering and simplification initiatives
• Co-developing NPD briefs with Marketing and R&D
• Coordinating internal product trials with Operations and Supply Chain
• Ensuring all products meet Food Safety, FSANZ, HACCP and GMP standards
• Improving SOPs and supporting manufacturing optimisation
• Identifying opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement
• Coaching and supporting junior team members
• Contributing to True Foods' culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement

ABOUT YOU

You're an experienced food technologist who thrives on creativity, practical problem-solving and getting products to market.

Essential:

• Degree in Food Technology or similar
• 5+ years' experience in NPD within food manufacturing (baking preferred)
• Strong knowledge of food regulations, formulation, labelling and R&D documentation
• Experience with HACCP, GMP and food hygiene standards
• Strong communication, influencing and project-management skills

Preferred:

• Experience with private label or QSR customers
• Exposure to BRC, CFMSR, Woolworths, Subway or KFC GMP requirements
• Proven leadership, coaching or people management experience
