Pay rate: $32 per hour minimum, up to $35 per hour depending on experience.

This is a permanent, full-time position, with a minimum of 40 hours per week.

About the roleJoin us as a Flooring Installer based in Christchurch, where you'll bring spaces to life by measuring, cutting, and installing a variety of flooring materials like carpet, vinyl, and timber, depending on your experience with precision and care. You'll get hands-on preparing surfaces for that flawless finish, working closely with supervisors to make sure every job meets NZ standards. 

Key Skills and ResponsibilitiesWe're after someone with a minimum of 3 years flooring installation experience, sharp attention to detail, solid measuring and cutting skills, and hands-on experience with either carpet, vinyl, or timber flooring or a combination. You'll work across a variety of sites like homes, offices, restaurants, and factories making sure every job is done right. Being a team player and great communicator will help you thrive in this role.

  • Accurately measuring and cutting flooring materials
  • Performing site inspections and measurements
  • Installing various flooring types: carpet, vinyl
  • Reading and interpreting floor plans and job sheets
  • Identifying and resolving floor surface issues before installation
  • Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
  • Working to New Zealand building and flooring standards
  • Collaborating with supervisors, contractors, and team members
  • Communicating clearly with clients and site manager.

You will have

  • Flooring qualification, or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a flooring installation role.
  • Basic understanding of NZ and AS/NZS flooring standards is an advantage
  • Experienced in measuring and performing necessary calculations
