Senior Analyst, FEC First Line Monitoring and Assurance
4 days ago
Rabobank is the world's leading specialist in food and agribusiness banking. One of our key strengths lies in our kaimahi (employees) who have a deep understanding of agriculture and are committed to adding long-term value for our clients.
Our purpose is clear of growing a better New Zealand together. Our commitment to our employees and customers is at the heart of everything we do.
About the role | Mō te tūranga
We have a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing, and experienced team that support the operational activities of our business
Rabobank embraces collaboration, change and fresh ways of working to reshape and transform their regulatory systems, solutions and tools, and has strong goals in place to deliver its strategic roadmap.
As a Senior Analyst, FEC First Line Monitoring and Assurance you play an important role in ensuring the bank's compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Countering Financing of Terrorism (CTF), and Sanctions requirements.
Your area of expertise covers multiple financial economic crime (FEC) disciplines, processes and teams. The role is responsible for supporting FEC controls operated in the region, ensuring the Division maintains all aspects of the Rabobank Australia and New Zealand (RANZ) Risk Control Framework (RCF) (including Compliance) on a day-to-day basis.
Your primary responsibility is to ensure the adoption and effective implementation of Rabobank's Risk Management Framework and Compliance Framework within W & R FEC Operations.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Risk and Compliance Integration: You drive the incorporation of risk and compliance management practices into the day-to-day activities of FEC W & R Operations – RANZ. This involves providing assurance to ensure files align to processes, policies, and practices with the established frameworks.
- Change Agent: As a change agent, you promote a strong risk culture within the 1st line of defence. Your influence helps the FEC W & R Operations team achieve their business objectives.
- Collaboration and Support: You collaborate with teams regionally, ensuring efficient and effective risk management practices. While you don't assume the role of a Risk Owner, you facilitate the resolution of risk and compliance challenges.
- Regulatory Environment: Given the increasing scrutiny from regulators in both Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands, your role contributes to the bank's long-term success. The 'license to operate' relies on demonstrating a cohesive Risk Management Framework and Compliance Framework.
Collaborating closely with teams across New Zealand you will uphold high-quality standards, ensuring accurate and timely identification of issues, as well as providing up to date reporting on testing outcomes. Effective communication skills are also essential as you liaise with stakeholders.
About you | Ō pūkenga
The role would suit a candidate who is ambitious and self-motivated. You will be joining a supportive team environment, so it's important to be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills. You will bring to the role:
- A minimum of 3-5 years of financial crime experience gained within the Banking/Financial Services Industry with a focus on assurance and/or risk management.
- In depth understanding of financial economic crime compliance requirements and practices in the New Zealand and EU financial services sector, gained through previous experience in this area.
- Awareness of changes to guidelines and enforcement action across the market.
- Firm understanding of control testing and assurance practices.
- Be proactive with strong organisational skills, and prioritise work to meet deadlines
- A continuous improvement mindset and confidence to share your great ideas
- Attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy
- Ability to communicate well with a range of people, both verbally and in writing
