We are looking for a full-time (six-month fixed-term) Support Worker to provide leave cover in our Te Awamutu Residential Services.
What does a Support Worker do? - He aha te mahi a te Kaimahi Tautoko?
This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and helping them do the things they want to do, such as going swimming, personal care, support with meals, household management tasks, and teaching life skills - the list is endless
Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support, with the potential for additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.

- People who are passionate about helping others, kind, and understanding
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviours
- A full, clean NZ driver's licence (essential)
- Someone who has the initiative to support people to achieve their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box
- Respectful of others' thinking and their way of living life that may be different from your own
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends
Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are important in this role, as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
