Wheelbarrow and Lifestyle Products Lead
Riverlea Group is a proudly New Zealand, family-owned manufacturer and distributor known for quality and innovation. Since 1992, we've been designing and building trusted products from our modern site in Hamilton — including our iconic wheelbarrows, lifestyle products, and well-known shed and cladding brands.
We're a team of Positive, Passionate People who care about each other and our customers. We work hard, have fun, and live our values.
With continued growth and new opportunities ahead, we're looking for a hands-on, people-focused leader to guide our Wheelbarrows & Lifestyle team.
About the Role:
As our Wheelbarrows & Lifestyle Lead, you'll oversee daily production, team performance, workflow, and product quality across our busy wheelbarrow and lifestyle manufacturing areas. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll support, coach, and empower your team while ensuring we deliver top-quality products on time, every time.
You'll work closely with other Leads and departments to keep production running efficiently and safely — while continuously improving how we operate.
Key Responsibilities:
· Plan and prioritise daily production activities to meet customer and delivery requirements
· Maintain quality standards and efficient production practices
· Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and stock control to ensure materials flow smoothly
· Oversee loading of wheelbarrow trucks and optimise freight
· Complete stocktakes and manage production stock accuracy
· Ensure clear communication on order readiness, customer collections, and timelines
· Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and boost efficiency
· Stock Control
· Oversee inwards goods and container devanning for the WB & Lifestyle areas
· Work closely with the Stock Controller on all stock movement plans
· Promote and model a strong safety culture
· Train team members on safety protocols and encourage daily hazard reporting
· Supervise, coach, and develop your team to build capability and performance
What You'll Bring:
· Proven experience in production, or a similar hands-on environment
· Experience supervising or leading a team
· A practical, solutions-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
· Ability to build trust, engage quickly, and create a positive team environment
· Strong communication skills and commitment to delivering for our customers
· A passion for continuous improvement — always looking for ways to make things better
· A safety-first mindset
Why You'll Love It Here
· A new, modern office and factory — a workplace you'll genuinely want to come to
· Positive, passionate team culture with people who support each other
· GBS profit share — everyone shares in our success
· Volunteer Programme to give back to the community
· Value Champions recognition for living our values
· A company that backs people who want to grow, improve, and make an impact
If you're a hands-on leader who loves bringing out the best in people and driving success, we'd love to hear from you.
