THE GIG:

Our client is a global leader in integrated facilities management and project delivery services. Supporting clients across a variety of sectors, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Their Dunedin based team are currently looking for a Qualified Flooring Foremanto join their Trades Team. This is a hands-on role responsible for overseeing and coordinating flooring installation projects, managing a team of installers, and ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and timeline standards. 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Plan, schedule, and manage residential and commercial flooring projects, ensuring work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Team Supervision and Leadership: Supervise, train, and direct a crew of flooring installers and subcontractors. This includes delegating tasks and managing personnel on site.
  • Site Preparation and Installation: Oversee all aspects of floor preparation and installation, including removing old flooring, cleaning and leveling subfloors, and installing various materials such as carpet, vinyl, laminate, and timber.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all installations adhere to manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and client requirements, including proper alignment of patterns and a high-quality finish.
  • Health and Safety: Implement and enforce all health and safety regulations and procedures on site, ensuring a safe working environment and proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key point of contact on-site, communicating effectively with clients, project managers, inspectors, and other tradespeople to coordinate work and manage expectations.
  • Material and Equipment Management: Estimate material quantities, manage inventory, ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained, and coordinate the delivery of supplies to the worksite.
  • Problem Solving: Adapt to unexpected site conditions and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Must have full working rights in New Zealand (No sponsorship, relocation costs or overseas applicants considered)
  • Must reside in Dunedin as this role is long term
  • Must be New Zealand trade qualified and have extensive experience as a qualified flooring installer, typically with a minimum of 3-5 years in the trade.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication.
  • Deep understanding of different flooring materials and installation methods,
  • Be able to pass a pre employment drug screen
  • Must be happy to work on wages (no sub-contracting on offer)
