Sales Engineer – Power Transmission

Technical sales product specialist role in representing Motion's range of Bearings and Power Transmission (PT).

• Manage and grow the sales / support function for Bearings & PT in the South Island.

What kind of work may be involved?

• Selling and providing technical support for the bearings and power transmission product group.
• Deliver technical services including technical proposals, product selection, root cause failure analysis etc.
• Supervise on-site bearing and PT installation for customers.
• Be the key support mechanism for sales both directly with customers and through others by providing quick response times and quality service delivery in your areas of product knowledge and expertise.
• Collaboration and cross-divisional technical sales support to Motion NZ, including joint calls with Strategic Account Managers (SAM), Customer Account Managers (CAM) and Sales Engineers.
• Support bearing and PT training through the Motion branch network.
• Any other duties as reasonably required to support the bearings and PT line of business and deliver outcomes for your product group.
• Complete CRM reporting on progress and status of customers. Update and distribute technical and application data to sales teams.

Ideal skills & experience:

• Advanced product knowledge in bearing and power transmission applications.
• Ability to apply technical skills and utilize industry knowledge to understand customer needs and expectations.
• Able to perform multiple tasks efficiently and to a deadline.
• Strong collaborative skills, ability to develop and drive business plans, high level of customer focus.
• Appropriate computer, engineering, calculation and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Willingness to travel across New Zealand on a regular basis.
