Mō te Tūranga | About the Role

As a seasoned UX Designer, you will have a significant impact on shaping the experience of ASB's digital products for both customers and employees. You'll collaborate across squads and tribes, working closely with multi-functional teams to transform insights into intuitive, high-impact design solutions.

You'll join a dynamic and diverse UX team, fully supported by Service Design, Research, and Strategy teams. Leveraging the strength of our Design Practice, you will deliver strategic, scalable, and forward-thinking design solutions. You'll also be empowered to influence product strategy, mentor others, and help foster a vibrant design culture.

ASB is seeking talented designers to join our growing team. We have opportunities available in two experience domains:

  • Consumer UX:

  • You will create elegant, accessible journeys for customers across the web and native mobile apps and build features that make banking feel simple and enjoyable.

  • Enterprise UX:

  • Join the strategic transformation team that establishes the backbone of ASB's customer experience. You'll create intuitive, data-rich platforms that empower our people to serve customers efficiently and confidently.

Ō pūkenga | About You

  • You bring 7+ years of UX/Product Design experience with a portfolio showing end-to-end delivery and impact.
  • You are a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • You're passionate about making the world safer and more enjoyable for everyone.
  • Your positivity and strong communication abilities enable you to share knowledge, learn from others, and contribute to key outcomes.
  • Strong design research capability and ability to turn insights into actionable designs.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills; comfortable presenting to senior audiences.
  • You will have proven experience 'on the tools' as a UX or Product designer in a design team. and able to design to global best practices.
  • Mastery of Figma and modern design systems; fluency with inclusive design and copy guidelines.

  • Curious and creative, with a keen eye for detail and a drive to simplify complexity.
  • You have hands-on experience with the complete UX toolkit, including leading creative workshops, conducting design research, and applying design and testing techniques.
  • Designed for native mobile apps and possess in-depth knowledge of Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design, allowing you to harness the strengths of native mobile platforms to elevate user experiences.
  • Skilled at designing products that involve complex workflows, ensuring seamless and efficient user journeys.
  • Worked in Agile project and squad environments, delivering solutions across web, mobile, and custom applications.
  • Excel at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks and stakeholders simultaneously, maintaining focus and momentum.
  • Effective communicator and facilitator, enthusiastic about sharing knowledge and supporting the growth of others.
  • Bring valuable experience in tackling complex workflows and multi-channel journeys with strategic and systems thinking.
  • A portfolio showcases high-quality design outcomes, demonstrating a positive impact on both user experience and business value.
