Position DescriptionPosition Title:Pharmacy AssistantReports to:Principal Pharmacist (Auckland) and /or Senior TechnicianPositions responsible for:N/ALocation:NZCR Auckland Pharmacy Cleanroom & Support AreasKey Relationships:Internal PharmacistsPharmacy TechniciansPrincipal PharmacistHead of PharmacyExternal PurposeAdvancing Global HealthOur Values:We Do What's Right, We're In It Together, We Strive for Excellence, We Find Better WaysPosition Purpose:This is a cleaning/ cleaning control role and the position purpose is to complete scheduled weekly and monthly cleaning of the NZCR cleanroom and support areas to USP and NZCR SOPs standards, maintaining accurate documentation, and safe working practices.ResponsibilitiesCleanroom Cleaning & GowningPerform routine weekly/monthly cleans for ISO-classified areas and support rooms to USP , NZCR SOP standards, and cleaning matrices.Correctly don and doff approved gowning and PPE; maintain aseptic behaviours within controlled areas.Preparation & Use of AgentsPrepare, label, and record use of disinfectants (e.g., alcohols, sporicides) per SOPs and manufacturer instructions.Manage contact times, rotation of agents, and expiry dating in accordance with SOPs.Environmental Control SupportSet up/pack down for cleaning activities; protect critical surfaces.Assist Pharmacy staff with basic environmental monitoring tasks (e.g., settle plates/ swabs) if trained and authorised,Materials & Waste HandlingTransfer materials using approved sanitisation steps; maintain segregation of clean and prep areas.Handle waste materials per NZCR SOPs and trainingTeamwork & CommunicationCoordinate with Pharmacy team to minimise disruption to clinical operations.Spot, recognise and communicate issues that may affect cleanroom classification, release, or study timelines.QualityComplete cleaning logs, checklists, and deviation reports in real time; ensure legibility and ALCOA+ data integrity principles.File and reconcile recordsMaintain compliance with all New Zealand Clinical Research standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements, adhering to Good Clinical Practice (GCP)Regularly evaluates, documents, and refines clinical and operational processes to enhance accuracy, consistency, and overall qualityAssists in training employees in quality standards, policies, and procedures, ensuring all team members understand and implement best practicesEnsures accuracy, consistency, and currency in all research documentation and reporting, including accurate record-keeping, version control and timely updatesWorkplace Health and SafetyReport hazards, incidents, and non-conformances promptly; able to follow SOPs precisely and complete documentation accurately.Physically able to perform repetitive cleaning tasks, including standing, mopping, reaching, and lifting up to ~10 kg.Able to wear cleanroom PPE for extended periods.Comfortable handling disinfectants per SDS and using spill kits after training.Strong communication and teamwork;
