About the Role

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will practise under the direction and delegation of a registered nurse or nurse practitioner to deliver nursing care and health education across the life span to health consumers in the community, residential or hospital settings. Enrolled nurses contribute to nursing assessments; care planning, implementation and evaluation of care to patients/tūroro/tangata whai ora and family/whanau. Enrolled nurses deliver nursing care within their level of competence and scope of practice.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Medical Outpatients is a growing service that is situated over several Northland sites.

Made up of a group of cohesive small teams, Medical Outpatient Nurses facilitate efficient Specialist Outpatient Clinics and oversee a Nurse-Led Medical Day Stay Unit.

Our nurses work closely with patients and senior clinicians to ensure optimal patient health outcomes. There is opportunity to learn and apply new skills that will see the successful applicant supported to grow and work at the top of their scope.

About you

As an Enrolled Nurse, you will be someone who shows courtesy, respect caring for patients/tūroro/tangata whai ora and their whānau/family in all aspects of nursing practice while being proactive and display initiative. In addition, you will have:

  • Registration as a New Zealand Enrolled Nurse with a current practicing certificate
  • Understanding of the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act (2004)
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Te Tiriti Waitangi and implications in nursing practice
  • Demonstrate alignment with Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora - Te Tai Tokerau organisational values
  • Ability to work as part of a team
