Phoenix Steel are a medium sized structural steel fabrication and installation company based in Timaru and operating throughout the Lower South Island.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Heavy Fabricator (Boilermaker) located in Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand. The Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating and welding structural steel for commercial buildings typically large Warehousing but also some multiu storey building work. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints, welding and joining metal parts, working with oxy-acetylene equipment, and performing MIG welding. The Boilermaker will also be involved in heavy steel fabrication and ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Welding, MIG Welding, and Oxy-acetylene
• Experience in Blueprint Reading
• Skills in Metal Fabrication
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Relevant trade certifications or qualifications are an advantage
• Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial
