*About the Role
With significant investment in people, plant and process, this company is looking for a 
Production Manager on a contract basis*
to join their high-performing team during a critical period. This is a rare opportunity to lead from the front — shaping culture, lifting performance, and embedding sustainable best practice across a fast-paced manufacturing site. Reporting into the General Manager of Operations, you'll be responsible for managing end-to-end production operations while developing a strong and accountable team culture on the floor. 

You'll take full ownership of production operations and team leadership, with accountability for:

  • Creating a safe, compliant and engaged working environment
  • Managing production schedules and resource allocation to achieve daily and weekly targets
  • Driving plant performance, analysing downtime and implementing data-led improvement strategies
  • Embedding a culture of continuous improvement across safety, quality and productivity
  • Developing the capability of supervisors and frontline teams through coaching, training and feedback
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with maintenance, quality and supply chain to deliver site objectives
  • Supporting annual budget planning, capex projects, and site-wide initiatives
  • Providing out-of-hours support when required to respond to operational issues

Skills & Experience required
You're a hands-on, values-driven leader with a proven track record in production or operations management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment and posess the following:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a production or operations environment
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS, quality, and environmental standards
  • Experience with production planning, resource management, and performance improvement
  • CI/Lean experience and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Certificate IV or above in Management (or equivalent)
  • Solid computer literacy (MS Office, reporting systems)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
