We operate two successful restaurants in the heart of Queenstown. Flame Bar & Grill; renowned for its high energy and exceptional ribs & steak, has been delivering unforgettable experiences to customers for over 15 years. It has a loyal following and a vibrant atmosphere. Sunfire, our newest restaurant, is an edgy, smart casual dining experience focused on beautifully crafted food cooked over charcoal. Sunfire is quickly becoming the place to be for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Duty Manager to join our team. This person will take on a pivotal role in our business and be responsible for assisting the Restaurant Manager in leading and developing our FOH team in day to day operations.

The successful candidate will embody our core values of excellence, innovation, consistency, and dedication to our people. All the while, you will embrace the challenge of driving sales and profitability. You will be a true leader at your core.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring seamless service and exceptional standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of passionate staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Embrace a leadership style that nurtures collaboration, hard conversations, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service by maintaining extremely high standards.
  • Always maintain remarkable turnout, setting the standard for the team.
  • Possess a solid understanding of how a busy restaurant operates.

Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience as a Duty Manager in a high-volume, full-service restaurant environment.

Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.

A track record of training and developing FOH teams. You will be a coach

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a focus on delivering consistent quality.

A real passion for hospitality – you will genuinely enjoy the experience of making someone's day.
