Family-owned for 40 years, Flooring Specialists is an independent flooring retailer that supplies and installs carpet, vinyl, timber and laminate flooring across Canterbury.

Position Summary:

We're looking for a motivated sales professional with a proven track record of success in building trade sales. The ideal candidate will have experience in quantifying/pricing and converting sales leads into successful residential and commercial projects.

This person will become an integral part of a lean team where attention to detail is crucial and the ability to take ownership for your role is a must. Alongside the business owners, you'll drive sales growth for our thriving family business.

You will divide your time between quantifying in the office, helping customers in the showroom and meeting builders or customers onsite. You will take customers through the end-to-end sales processes of presenting samples, measuring, quantifying, quoting, and supporting the operations team to convert sales into successfully installed projects.

The ideal candidate will have experience in flooring or adjacent industries. They'll need to be passionate about delivering outstanding customer service while also working towards our organisational goals.

The remuneration package will reflect the level of experience that the candidate brings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with retail and commercial clients to understand their preferences tailored to their flooring needs
  • Helping customers to select materials and finishes that are appropriate for the application and client requirements
  • Measuring, quantifying and pricing flooring projects
  • Delivering an outstanding client experience - ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the consultation and quoting process

Desirables:

  • Experience with quantifying and costing materials for construction related projects
  • Prior experience in a sales role
  • Someone who is technically capable, understands products and installation
  • Sound measuring, quantifying & pricing experience
  • Competence with online platforms and apps for quoting and managing projects
  • The ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Project management experience - organised, detailed with exceptional time management & multitasking abilities.
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
