Senior Architect – Platform Engineering
Slalom cloud solutions team build systems to help our clients solve their most complex business challenges. Our diverse teams are invigorated by new challenges and aren't shy to seek out new learning opportunities or challenge the status quo. As a Senior Architect, you will design and build the secure automation capabilities that enable our application and data engineers to unveil their products to the world. Our goal is to create a platform to make a product smart, secure, and fast, while minimizing toil.

You'll be working hands-on in the cloud with some of the newest technologies out there. You'll build in AWS using a wide variety of tools across the DevOps landscape. You name it, we work on it. And so can you.

What You'll Do
As a Senior Architect, you will work hands-on in the cloud with some of the newest technologies, primarily building in AWS across the DevOps landscape. You'll drive automation and DevOps strategy, architecture, and implementation, providing technical expertise with a consultative approach to guide clients from requirements through development. Specifically, you will:

• Act as a hands-on technical lead for multi-functional product teams creating purpose-built software products for clients.
• Lead initial engagement discovery and remain accountable for the design and delivery of modern Platform Engineering solutions.
• Provide domain expertise in DevOps culture, tooling, delivery methods, and practices within Slalom Build and for clients.
• Lead work effort estimation and story pointing to align user and business goals at each phase of Agile projects.
• Develop project/technology case studies, training materials, and technical guidance for Slalom teams.
• Participate in internal Slalom events and initiatives.
• Help grow a culture of learning by:
• Presenting at technical conferences and community groups
• Writing blog articles
• Contributing to partner-coordinated workshops

What You'll Bring
Senior Architects bring strong experience as architects across software engineering and DevOps in production environments using AWS. You will leverage:

• Knowledge of designing and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with configuration management and infrastructure as code (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
• Understanding of fundamental cloud security (e.g., IAM, firewalls) to embed security in all solutions.

Additionally, You Will

• Lead and collaborate across multiple functional and technical teams to deliver Agile-based projects.
• Demonstrate a growth mindset, quickly learning new technologies and applying them to solve practical business problems.
• Confidently lead business-level conversations with clients and translate needs into technical solutions to maximize team velocity.
