The Opportunity | Te Kōwhiringa
As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with the Project Manager to deliver a range of maintenance and construction projects throughout the year. Your work will span project planning, pricing, programming, construction support, stakeholder engagement and financial tracking.

You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to specification—while helping strengthen the relationships we hold with clients, suppliers, and community stakeholders.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop project methodologies, programmes, and cost tracking systems

• Monitor financial performance, provide daily/weekly reporting, and support budget forecasting

• Price, plan and deliver external projects

• Support contract management, ensuring obligations are met and variations handled appropriately

• Prepare accurate monthly claims and maintain strong financial oversight

• Oversee site progress, ensuring safety, quality and productivity targets are met

• Lead by example in Zero Harm practices and promote safe behaviours across teams

• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and community stakeholders

• Assist in allocating people, plant and resources to optimise project delivery

Important Skills | Nga Pūkenga Matua

• Experience managing multiple small construction or maintenance projects

• Strong skills in planning, resource allocation and programme management

• Experience tracking and reporting on project costs

• Ability to build strong relationships with clients and public stakeholders

• RAMM Contractor competency

• Current driver's licence

• Ability to work across geographical boundaries when required

Desirable:

• Tertiary engineering qualification (or working towards one)
