Pastrycook Wanted

Dream Cake Limited is a specialty cake shop in Auckland focusing on fresh Asian-style cakes and desserts. We create a wide range of cream cakes, fruit cakes, mousse cakes, and custom-designed celebration cakes. We are looking for a Pastrycook to join our team.

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Hours per week: Minimum 30 hours

Employment type: Full-time, permanent

Hourly rate: $25 to $30 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and check raw ingredients, and measure according to recipes
• Produce cake bases, fillings, creams, and dessert components
• Assemble and decorate cakes, including piping, finishing, and custom designs
• Monitor baking and preparation times to maintain consistent quality and appearance
• Prepare and replenish daily display cakes and retail products
• Ensure the working area and equipment are cleaned and prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
• Maintain cleanliness and proper sanitation of tools, equipment, and production area

Skills and Experience:

• NZQF Level 4 qualification in a relevant field, or minimum one year experience in cake or pastry production (Asian-style cakes is an advantage)
• Familiar with food safety and hygiene procedures
• Good handcrafting and decoration skills with attention to detail
• Reliable, well-organised, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
