Senior Full-Stack Developer (C#, React, WPF)

Location: Auckland Central, NZ (Onsite)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Developer to take a key role in designing and building scalable software products used in large-scale real-world engineering projects. This position blends backend ownership in C#/.NET with modern frontend development in React, along with contributions to a Windows desktop application using WPF.

You will work closely with a small, highly technical team and will have significant input into architecture, development practices, and overall code quality. This is a hands-on role where your technical decisions will directly influence the evolution of the platform as it scales internationally.

What You'll Do Backend Development (C#, .NET Core)

  • Work within a well-structured codebase using established engineering patterns (e.g., Repository, Unit of Work, Dependency Injection, Layered Architecture).
  • Build and extend RESTful APIs and modular backend services.
  • Apply multi-tenant SaaS design principles and microservice-friendly patterns such as message queues/webhooks.
  • Develop and test within containerized environments (Docker) aligned with production deployment practices.
  • Implement secure authentication, error handling, logging, and data access controls.

Frontend Development (React & WPF)

  • Build and maintain modern React applications using TypeScript and modular component design.
  • Work with state management, routing, testing strategies, and UX improvements that support scalability.
  • Contribute to architectural improvements for both React web and WPF desktop applications.
  • Write code with strong security practices, including API token handling, XSS prevention, and adherence to CSP best practices.

What We're Looking For Required

  • 6+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and the .NET Core ecosystem.
  • Professional experience building modern React applications using TypeScript.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, modular architectures, and event-based communication.
  • Practical experience with Docker for development and testing.
  • Awareness of modern security principles across frontend and backend development.

Preferred

  • Experience with WPF using MVVM patterns.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and cloud deployment environments (Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Interest in domains involving data visualization, geospatial information, engineering, or infrastructure (not required, but beneficial).
