About the business

We're a small, family-run business made up of crafters and carvers. Starting in 1986, we've grown from humble roots to become a leader in the creation of hand-crafted jade carvings. While we've evolved since those early days, Mountain Jade is still run by family, with family values remaining at our core.

For three generations, we've shaped jade by hand into designs that do two things — honour the stone's cultural past and explore a future that's less familiar. We take pride in our process, our pieces, and our people, continually driving our retail team to succeed and grow. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Retail Sales Assistant to join our stores across Auckland International Airport and Mānawa Bay.

About the role

Day-to-day you will be responsible for:


• Greeting all customers in a friendly and professional manner


• Assisting customers and guiding them to the most suitable products


• Maintaining strong knowledge of our products and their cultural significance


• Ensuring displays are well presented and fully stocked


• Accurately processing sales and handling cash


• Keeping the store organised, tidy, and inviting

This position is based across Auckland International Airport and Mānawa Bay.

Work hours are scheduled in line with flight timetables and mall operating hours.

The role is for 32 hours per week (days to be confirmed).

Skills and experience

As the successful candidate, ideally you will have:


• Previous sales experience (retail preferred)


• Fluency in Mandarin – both spoken and written (required)


• An affinity for jewellery and an appreciation for pounamu (greenstone)


• Comfort with using and pronouncing Te Reo Māori


• A respectful approach to all cultures and the ability to thrive in a diverse environment


• Availability for early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays


• Flexibility to work different shifts


• Strong communication and organisational skills


• A positive, customer-first attitude and ability to work well in a team
