The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join our production team at our Maces Road workshop.
In this hands-on role you'll set up, run and maintain CNC mills and lathes, machining a range of materials, from mild steel and stainless to non-ferrous metals and plastics, to tight tolerances and high standards.
You'll play a key part in producing precision parts for our customers, ensuring accuracy, quality, and reliability at every stage.
The role suits someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and thrives in both independent and team environments.
What You'll Do
- Set up and operate CNC equipment safely and efficiently.
- Interpret engineering drawings and route sheets accurately.
- Adjust feed rates, speeds and tooling to achieve required productivity and finish.
- Perform measurement verification using precision instruments.
- Carry out basic program edits and diagnostics as required.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
- Support continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and ideas with others.
- Complete job entries accurately and on time.
What You'll Bring
- Minimum 5 years' CNC machining experience (mills and/or lathes).
- Solid understanding of machining practices, tooling, and material differences.
- Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
- Confidence using precision measuring equipment and maintaining quality standards.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, safety-conscious approach and pride in producing quality work.
- A Trade qualification in machining or fitting & turning would be advantageous but not essential.
- Willingness to collaborate, learn, and help train others.
