Lead the Team, Shape the Workday

Tree King is growing, and we're looking for a Crew Leader who leads from the ground up, someone who can bring structure, focus, and teamwork to every site.

You'll be the one who makes the day flow, coordinating people, gear, and sites with calm, capable leadership. We value leaders who can plan ahead, support their crew, and make sure every job runs safely, efficiently, and to a professional finish.

You don't have to be the best climber on the ropes, but you do need to understand the work and lead it well, guiding your team to deliver quality results every time.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead your crew on site, ensuring work is done safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
  • Manage day-to-day workflow, site setup, and task allocation.
  • Communicate with clients and the office to keep jobs on track.
  • Conduct site-specific risk assessments and ensure safe practices are followed.
  • Keep equipment maintained and trucks tidy, ready for the next day.
  • Coach and support your crew to grow their skills and confidence.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum Level 4 Certificate in Arboriculture or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
  • A solid understanding of tree work, safety, and workflow.
  • Confidence communicating with clients and managing day-to-day operations.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, planning, and safety.
  • Familiarity with job management software (e.g. ServiceM8) an advantage.
  • Full NZ driver's licence (Class 2).
