About the role

JHL Paint Management Services Ltd is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter to join our team based out of Auckland, but with the availability to travel frequently through out the North Island. As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for providing high-quality painting services for steel based projects in the Lower North Island. As travel is a large part of this role, you will be required to travel away from home when required. If you are the right person for the job, there is an opportunity to move to a more Senior role in the near future.

What you'll be doing

  • Preparing steel surfaces for painting, including waterblast cleaning, power tool corrosion removal and sandblasting
  • Applying paint systems to client specifications
  • Collaborating with Operations team to coordinate painting schedules
  • Maintaining a safe and organised work environment
  • Providing exceptional customer service to clients and reporting client assets

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Industrial Painter with experience in steel substrate preparation and painting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in surface preparation and the application of various paint and finish types
  • Familiarity with industrial painting techniques and equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret MDS, paint specifications and related documents
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
  • Reliable, honest, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive a manual vehicle
  • Be readily available to travel away from home.
