Job Description
Some of what you will be doing:
- Supporting Head Chef in Kitchen Operations: Support daily culinary operations across both hotels, ensuring high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
- Team Leadership and Development: Supervise, train, and inspire the kitchen team along side the other Sous Chef's to maintain a positive, efficient, and professional work environment.
- Food Safety and Compliance: Ensure all kitchen practices meet health, safety, and hygiene regulations, with strict adherence to HACCP standards.
Qualifications
Desired Qualifications:
- Culinary qualification and Food Safety Certification (e.g. NZQA Level 4+, HACCP knowledge preferred).
- 3–5 years' experience in a kitchen or senior kitchen role, ideally in a hotel or high-volume environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
- Skilled in menu planning, cost control, and team training.
- Passionate, creative, and committed to quality, safety, and cleanliness.
