ABOUT THE ROLE:

Gaia Healthcare are inviting applications from HCA's, Caregivers and Support Workers who are looking for a new opportunity with a friendly nursing agency and are looking to work with an expert team who understand Healthcare and its unique needs.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE SUPPORT WORKER ROLE:As a Gaia Healthcare Community Support Worker, you will have strong empathy and patience with the people we support, and communication will be one of your superpowers. People will comment about how friendly and approachable you and you pride yourself on your professionalism. 

You will:

  • Have had at least six months experience in health, challenging behaviours or social care setting.
  • Be Medication Competent- A MUST HAVE
  • Be competent providing personal cares
  • Be able to pick up at least 2-3 shifts per week including the weekend.
  • Have a full NZ driver's license. -A MUST HAVE
  • Be happy to assist with general household support including meal preparation.
  • Hold current CPR / First Aid certification.

**WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE HCA | CAREGIVER ROLE:

You will:**

  • Have had a minimum of 6 months caregiving experience OR
  • Hold an overseas Nursing Registration
  • Current CPR, Basic Life Support or First Aid Certification preferred
  • Be able to work at least one shift over the weekend-A MUST HAVE
  • Be able to work at least 3 shifts per week on an ongoing basis -A MUST HAVE
  • Be comfortable managing challenging behaviours
  • Must Be competent in all aspects of manual handling including the use of a hoist.
