Destination Queenstown and Lake Wānaka Tourism are the regional tourism organisations responsible for positioning Queenstown and Wānaka as world-class regions striving to be leaders in regenerative tourism.

Based in Queenstown, this full-time role is ideal for someone with 2-3 years' experience in tourism trade, sales or marketing, looking to take the next step in their career.

You'll be responsible for building strong trade relationships, hosting familiarisation visits, delivering training and education, and representing Queenstown and Wānaka at trade shows and events. Your work will directly support the region's regenerative tourism strategy and help position Queenstown Wānaka as a global leader in sustainable travel.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating and hosting Australian trade famils and site inspections.
  • Representing the region at trade shows, roadshows, and sales calls.
  • Delivering webinars, training, and market updates to Australian-based partners.
  • Developing and executing trade marketing plans aligned with regenerative tourism goals.
  • Managing CRM system, administration and reporting on market activity.
  • Collaborating across departments to support destination management initiatives.

We're looking for someone with:

  • 2 to 3 years' experience in tourism trade, sales, or marketing - ideally in Western or Australian markets.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Business, Marketing, or Tourism Management) or frontline tourism experience.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
