About the team | Ko te rōpū nei

The Three Waters Unit is responsible for the delivery of the capital works projects and the rebuilding of the Council's Three Waters infrastructure. The Wastewater Capital Delivery team is responsible for the delivery of an extensive capital works programme across Christchurch City and Banks Peninsula.

About the role | Ko te mahi nei

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery of MEICA and SCADA projects and programmes through competent project management processes, financial control, stakeholder management, project and programme governance. You will be providing end to end project delivery services ensuring the effective management of scope, time, cost, quality, issues and risks.

About you | Ko Koe Tēnei

You will have competent technical understanding of MEICA and SCADA projects with proven experience of taking those projects from initiation through all delivery and reporting phases to operational handover and closeout.

Previous experience and a sound working knowledge of wastewater treatment or water supply pump stations and their associated electrical control and monitoring systems is essential. You will also bring with you:

• An undergraduate university degree (e.g. Process/Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering)
• Extensive industry experience in the delivery of a range of MEICA/SCADA system projects in an operational plant environment
• Proven ability to communicate, direct and work closely with our suppliers to effectively delivery projects and solutions, on time, to specification and budget.
• Previous experience managing multiple disciplines within project teams.
• Well-developed professional writing skills enabling you to translate technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering large multi-faceted infrastructure projects within the required time, scope and budget.

• Position - Permanent full-time
• Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
• Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $135,907 to $151,008 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
