Showroom Consultant

The Tile Depot is a family owned and operated business with 13 stores across the country. We pride ourselves on being a leader within the flooring industry through selling quality products and providing a high level of service.

An opportunity now exists for a part time experienced Showroom Consultant to join the Tile Depot family in our Rosebank Road store.  Key to being successful in this role will be your ability to provide a positive in-store experience through listening and understanding customer needs in order to provide a tailored solution that exceeds customer expectations.

You will be supported by an experienced team, including a Branch Manager and National Retail Manager.

This is a 7 day a week store and there is a requirement for someone who can work Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday of each week (or majority of these days) - circa 20 hours  per week.

Key role responsibilities include:

• Assisting trade and retail customers within the store showroom, providing product and design advice when required;
• Estimating job requirements via plans submitted by the customer;
• Securing of stock for upcoming jobs;
• Invoicing upon completion of jobs;
• Preparation and follow up of quotations;
• Assisting with in-store displays and presentations;

What we're looking for:

• A strong sales background gained in a consultative retail or trade environment;
• Task orientated, with a commitment to ensuring tasks are completed from start to finish in a timely manner;
• An eye for detail and accuracy;
• Well organised and proven multi-tasker;
• An interest in design and working with colours/finishings, enabling options to be presented to customers;
• Proven problem solver, with a can-do attitude;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

You will have an ability to develop immediate lasting relationships and have an outgoing personality. While previous industry experience would be an advantage, more important is a positive attitude and willingness to learn.  This is a hands on role and you will be required to do a bit of everything, so attitude is everything
