About the role:

The CityDepot team is seeking an enthusiastic Operator to work at our Container Depot based in the Woolston Industrial area. This facility provides an extensive container survey, repair, wash and storage operation working on a 24/5 shift roster.

As a Forkhoist Operator your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Driving our Container Handling Equipment; large and heavy plant machinery which includes both Empty and Full Container Handlers.
  • Safely and efficiently unloading and loading containers or tanks from/to both trucks and rail wagons.
  • Moving containers throughout the Depot to specified locations in a timely manner and being able to skillfully stack containers to a "6High" stacking standard.
  • Undertake and support other yard operations tasks as / when required.

About you:

You will be a self-starter and team player who is committed to working hard to ensure our customer requirements are met. You will have a genuine commitment to Health and Safety and take a personal commitment to looking after yourself and your teammates. You will be experienced in the operation of Container Handling equipment or other heavy machinery.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • To be available and open to work a shift roster. You will work 5 x 8-hour shifts per week, across three different shift patterns. Our roster starts at 2200 on Sunday and finishes at 2230 on Friday.
  • A current, clean, full NZ Class 1 driver's licence is required.
  • Having an F endorsement and experience driving machinery such as Forklifts and other heavy plant would be an advantage.
  • To enjoy working in a fast paced and busy environment.
