We're seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join a major project in Taupo. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about health and safety and permit-to-work processes. Our client is a leading contractor that has delivered notable projects across New Zealand.

Tō tūranga hou | Your new role

Reporting to the Project Director, you will be:

  • Overseeing night shift operations to ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Managing and enforcing the permit process, including working from heights, confined space, and isolation procedures.
  • Confirm that risk assessments and control measures are in place
  • Driving a strong health and safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Conduct spot checks to ensure work is carried out under permit conditions
  • Coordinating with day shift teams for smooth handovers and continuity.
  • Monitoring work zones, exclusion areas, and ensuring no one walks under suspended loads.

  • Proven experience as a Site Supervisor, Manager or Health & Safety lead in construction or industrial projects.
  • Strong knowledge of permit-to-work systems and hazard management.
  • Excellent understanding of NZ health and safety standards.
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively during night operations.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and risk mitigation.
