Summit Foods 2015 Limited is an Auckland-based wholesale company specialising in the import and distribution of Asian food products throughout New Zealand. We supply supermarkets, restaurants, foodservice businesses and retail outlets nationwide. Due to continued growth, we are looking for reliable Warehouse Assistants to join our team.

About the Role

As a Warehouse Assistant, you will support the day-to-day operations of our busy warehouse, helping to ensure stock is received, stored, picked and dispatched accurately and on time.

Key Duties and Tasks:

  • Receiving and unloading incoming stock, including container unloading of imported Asian food products.
  • Checking deliveries against paperwork, counting items and reporting any discrepancies or damages.
  • Storing and stacking products in designated areas, ensuring safe and efficient use of warehouse space.
  • Picking and packing customer orders accurately using picking slips and/or scanner devices.
  • Preparing orders for dispatch, including palletising, wrapping and labelling goods.
  • Assisting with stock rotation, stocktakes and regular inventory checks.
  • Operating pallet jacks and, where licensed, forklifts in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe warehouse environment in line with health and safety and basic food handling requirements.
  • Carrying out other general warehouse duties as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.

Skills, Experience & Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, distribution centre or similar environment is preferred.
  • Good physical fitness and the ability to lift and move cartons and pallets as part of daily work.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills to read invoices, picking slips and labels, and complete simple records.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when checking, picking and packing stock.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • A current forklift licence would be an advantage, but is not essential.
  • An interest in or familiarity with Asian food products would be beneficial.
  • Full training in our products, systems and warehouse procedures will be provided to the successful candidates.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00 – $30.00 per hour
