Are you a qualified Registered Nurse with a passion for working in the community? Te Kāika is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Te Kāika Community Outreach team, as a Tamariki Ora Nurse in Queenstown. This role is key to the successful healthy growth, development and overall wellbeing of Tamariki (children) and their whānau (family), contributing to our mission of improving health outcomes for our communities.

Te Kāika is a kaupapa Māori health and social services provider dedicated to delivering holistic, whānau-centred care across Otago. About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dedicated and motivated team at Te Kaika, Queenstown. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in providing high quality, culturally responsive health care for Tamariki (children) and their whānau (family) from birth to five years of age. This 0.5 FTE, fixed term position offers the opportunity to work within an integrated and collaborative environment, with a broad range of health and social services. The role will be based in Frankton, Queenstown and is part of a wider team based in Dunedin.

What you'll be doing

· Plan, coordinate and deliver Tamariki Ora health checks from birth to five years, following the Well Child Tamariki Ora national schedule.

· Work as part of an experienced and fun team to deliver Tamariki Ora services.

· Schedule visits with whānau to provide comprehensive health and developmental assessments, including physical, social, emotional and whānau wellbeing.

· Actively work with whānau to promote, educate and support the delivery of immunisation services for Tamariki and their whānau.

· Ensure Tamariki are up to date with hearing, vision, dental care and development screening.

· Participating in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance nursing knowledge and skills

· Promoting a safe, clean, and organised work environment

What we're looking for

· Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate.

· Post graduate qualification is desirable.

· Minimum of 2 years' experience in a health setting (hospital, primary care or community).

· Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and cultural competency skills.

· An ability to work in a team environment.

· Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills

· Commitment to providing high-quality, whānau-centred care

· Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the organisation and whānau.
