About the roleWe're looking for a practically minded, reliable, and mechanically skilled individual to join our Christchurch team as an Assembly Technician. This is a varied role supporting the preparation and presentation of agricultural and construction machinery - including assembling new units, assisting with reconditioning used machinery, and helping out in the yard.

You don't need to be a qualified technician, but you will need solid mechanical ability, a great work ethic, and a keen eye for detail. You'll play a key role in helping our workshop and service team run smoothly, ensuring all equipment is ready for delivery, well-presented, and safe for use.

What you'll be doing:

  • Assembling new machinery and completing pre-delivery inspections (PDIs).
  • Reconditioning and preparing used machinery for resale or demonstration.
  • Supporting the workshop and service technicians with daily setup, movement, and equipment preparation.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading machinery, parts, and freight.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe yard, with efficient machinery layout and presentation.
  • Contributing to a safety-first culture and attending toolbox meetings.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong mechanical skills - either through experience or a trade background
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, service manuals, and assembly diagrams.
  • High attention to detail, time management, and a proactive approach to quality workmanship.
  • Great communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Experience working in a workshop, yard, agricultural or machinery setting is a bonus.
  • A full driver's licence (and F endorsement or forklift licence is an advantage, but not essential).
