'loving life' – and that's what we do – we work with our taiohi to realise this
aspiration. We provide health and
wellbeing services, working with local community support to help taiohi aged 12
to 24 develop life skills and build strong connections, including their school,
employer, whānau, and friends.

This is a
full-time role based at Park Place, Whanganui. You will be working Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm.
We're looking for a Social Worker
who's either newly graduated or early in their career, and excited to work in
the youth sector.
Whetū Marewa is a service that
aims to build confidence, resilience and wellbeing in taiohi (young people),
aged 12 to 24-years-old, who are living with mild to moderate mental health and
addiction-related issues and social stressors. The mobile service has an outreach approach, providing support from
registered health professionals and youth workers in schools and community
clinics, and offering access to a range of supported interventions when needed.
In this role you will be working with
a passionate and dynamic team of 2 youth workers and a Team Coach. As a Registered Health Professional some of
your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Supporting taiohi with their primary mental health in school or in the community.
- Enhancing confidence, resilience and wellbeing in the taiohi we support.
- Supporting taiohi to re-connect with community services and take control of their own lives.
- Providing assessment and support using a range of evidence-based brief interventions.

Are a registered health professional with a passion for supporting taiohi and keen
to draw on your demonstrated experience in working with young people to support
them to achieve better outcomes.
You will also:
- Have
experience working in mental health and addiction settings or similar - The
ability to work well with other services such as Te Whatu Ora, PHOs, and
the wider community and social sector - Full
New Zealand driver's license - The
ability to cope under pressure and use own initiative when required in a
flexible and changing environment - A
HPCAA recognised qualification and current practicing certificate - A
current first aid certificate - Knowledge
of, and demonstrable commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
