He angitūtanga / The opportunity:

We are seeking Kitchen Assistants to join our team at CHT Hillcrest in Mangere, Auckland. In this role, you'll assist with food preparation and presentation, maintain kitchen hygiene, and support the delivery of high-quality catering services to residents. Your work will help create a safe and comfortable environment for those in our care. This is a Casual Position with hours of work are "as and when" required basis.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

• Assist with preparing and presenting meals, including portioning and plating food.
• Maintain clean and tidy kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitising equipment.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met.
• Follow food safety plans and infection control procedures in a healthcare setting.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents while adhering to company policies.

He kōrero mōu / About you:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment.
• A team player with strong communication skills and a flexible attitude.
• Physically fit, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
• Able to work independently and follow health and safety procedures.
• Holds or is willing to obtain a Police Clearance; NZQA Food Handling Certificate (Units 167 & 168) preferred.
