Role Overview

The Banquet Manager at Rydges Wellington is responsible for the seamless coordination and execution of all hotel functions and events. This role plays a key part in enhancing client relationships, driving new business, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across all banquet operations. The successful candidate will lead the banquet team with a focus on operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

•    Oversee the planning, setup, and execution of all functions, ensuring alignment with client confirmations and hotel standards.

•    Prepare and distribute banquet worksheets to relevant departments to ensure smooth coordination.

•    Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and actively pursue new business opportunities.

•    Ensure all functions are set up at least 30 minutes prior to start time, with attention to detail and guest expectations.

•    Monitor food safety, cleanliness, and equipment standards throughout banquet operations.

•    Manage banquet staffing, including rostering, training, performance reviews, and adherence to grooming and presentation standards.

•    Proven experience in banquet or event management within a hotel or hospitality environment.

•    Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.

•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on client satisfaction.

•    Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously with attention to detail and time management.

•    Financial acumen to manage budgets, control costs, and drive revenue.

•    A commitment to continuous improvement and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
