About the Role

One New Zealand Stadium is less than a year away from opening, and we're in an exciting phase of growth and transformation. We are thrilled to invite applications for a Head Chef Delivery role to join our passionate culinary team.

The Head Chef Delivery is responsible for overseeing the operations of the culinary team delivery, supporting the Executive Chef, Delivery in all aspects of culinary delivery, team leadership, kitchen management and menu development. They play a pivotal role in ensuring strategic planning and execution of high-volume culinary delivery, with a strong focus on quality, presentation, hygiene, and efficiency across all culinary operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Setting the culinary direction for corporate events in conjunction with the Executive Chef, Delivery and Food & Beverage leadership to align with Venues Ōtautahi's food strategy
  • Build the Culinary team's capability, systems and processes, fostering a positive work environment and a productive kitchen culture
  • Oversee the planning, preparation, cooking, and presentation of corporate and delivery
  • Plans and communicates information, advice and guidance to the culinary team members and Food and Beverage team to ensure delivery of agreed food services at all events
  • Uphold strict standards of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety compliance.
  • Ensure high standards of corporate service and quality. Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure operational efficiency, focus on delivering high-quality, consistent, and well-presented food
  • Ensure food quality is maintained through appropriate packaging and effective delivery techniques.
  • Manage food waste and control portion size.
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and manage deliveries.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a high-volume kitchen
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of food preparation, culinary techniques and presentation
  • Expertise on seasonal ingredients, menu design and culinary trends.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with staff, management and suppliers.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to handle planning and logistics for large-scale events.
  • Creative problem-solving skills to manage the fast-paced, high-pressure commercial kitchen.
  • Experience in ordering, stock control, and food cost management
  • Inspirational leader who builds confidence and capability in others
  • High attention to detail, quality, and presentation
  • Adaptable and resilient, with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Passionate about food, service, and creating memorable experiences
