Located at the top of iconic Queen St in Auckland – the city of sails-  Mercure Auckland Queen St embraces the vibrant local culture of its surrounds. With 96 comfortable rooms and Restaurant and Bar, the Hotel offers the perfect base to explore the intimate ethnic mosaic of inner Auckland.

We are currently recruiting for bubbly & enthusiastic team members to join our small team at Mercure Auckland Queen Street

Full Time Position Available

5 x Shifts 40 hours a week, rotating roster including weekends. Shift times 23:00 - 07:30

NIGHT AUDITOR
Job Description

We're on the lookout for a reliable and proactive Night Auditor to take charge of overnight operations and guest needs at our hotel. You'll play a key role in ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and comfort of the hotel during the quiet hours.

What You'll Do

  • Welcoming guests arriving late or departing early, handling phone calls emails etc
  • Acting swiftly in case of emergencies or incidents
  • Conducting regular security checks throughout the hotel
  • Acting as the main point of contact in the hotel during your shift and being responsible for ensuring the hotel runs smoothly
  • Maintaining cleanliness in all public spaces

We need someone who is dependable, takes initiative, and has a genuine passion for hospitality. This is a hands-on, varied role perfect for someone who enjoys working independently and takes pride in providing a safe and welcoming environment.

  • Previous hotel experience in Front Office essential
  • A strong sense of responsibility and trustworthiness – you'll be the sole person on duty overnight
  • Well-groomed with excellent communication skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Calm under pressure and able to handle emergencies with confidence
  • Adaptable, mature, and dependable
  • Able to work overnight shifts (Required)
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as part of the job role
Qualifications

Experience & Skills

  • Prior experience working with Opera Cloud or a related system is preferred
  • Previous Night Experience preferred but not required
  • Immaculate personal presentation and high level of communication  - both written and verbal.
  • Must hold a full New Zealand drivers license with the ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle
