Enable connects homes, businesses and public spaces, supporting everything from local tourism to free public Wi-Fi. They are a high-performing, community-focused organisation looking for an experienced Senior Developer to join their Christchurch-based team.

About the role

We're looking for a Senior Developer who enjoys building modern, cloud focused solutions in an environment that values collaboration and creativity. You'll be part of a small, supportive team focused on transformation of core systems with a focus on cloud services and event driven approaches.

What you'll be doing

  • Modernising and transforming existing applications into cloud-based solutions
  • Designing and developing APIs and event-driven integrations
  • Building and improving systems with AWS Cloud services and Python
  • Working closely with developers, testers, and architects to deliver quality outcomes
  • Supporting continuous improvement of development practices
  • Bringing your experience to grow and challenge the why
  • Exploring new opportunities in AI and automation
  • Supporting legacy solutions while we modernise

What we're looking for

  • Strong background in software development, ideally with Python and AWS
  • Experience with APIs, serverless architecture, and event-driven systems
  • Interest in modernising legacy applications and embracing new technology
  • A collaborative approach and excellent communication skills
  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • A genuine interest in innovation, learning, and helping others succeed
