Reporting to the Chief Executive, the Health Delivery Performance Lead will be singularly focused and have autonomy and delegated authority at an Executive level to drive performance through joined-up programmes across the country on:

Health Targets, specifically increasing timely access to and reducing wait times, where resources are moved closer to our patients for:

  • First Specialist Assessments
  • Elective surgery
  • Follow-up assessments
  • Elective Care boosts

Major patient care change initiatives through the establishment of a joint programme of work with the ELT that:

  • Co-ordinates patient care change initiatives
  • Removes duplication or inefficient patient care
  • Plans how AI and biotechnology will be adopted in Health NZ

In addition, the role will perform an assurance function to the Chief Executive and Commissioner, ensuring information produced internally is reviewed and valid for all health targets reporting.

We are looking for someone with the skills, patient focus and demonstrated track record it takes to help us boost sustainable performance in the delivery of public health care, while working alongside colleagues in a supportive but focused approach.
