About the Opportunity

A Senior Test Analyst is required to support the delivery of our wrap platform. The senior test analyst will drive testing through all stages of software development while working with other business areas to meet project deliverables. Agile / Scrum is used for software development and this role will need to manage testing within streams they work for. Must be a self-starter, someone who is able to take on testing responsibilities with minimal direction.

Some of your key responsibilities will be:

• Work within current testing streams to drive functional and non-functional testing, regression testing, defect management, dependencies and testing schedules
• Execute manual and automated test, report and track defects and issues, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution
• Develop test plans and test cases to be automated
• Use Azure DevOps for test case management and defect tracking
• Analyse and report test results and identify areas for improvement
• Work in collaboration with other business areas (e.g. business analysts, developers etc) to ensure that testing is aligned with business requirements and project timelines
• Track testing progress across streams and providing regular reporting
• Determine and take corrective action to manage software related project risks, escalating issues as required
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and tools
• Act as a subject matter expert in testing methodologies, techniques, and tools
• Provide guidance and direction to work stream, contractors and more junior staff

The successful candidate will:

• Have at least 5-7 years of testing experience, with experience in the financial services industry an advantage
• Strong knowledge of software development life cycles
• Experience with Agile / Scrum and more traditional projects (e.g., waterfall) also useful
• Experience working with other business areas (e.g., business analysts, developers etc.) to meet project timelines
• Tracking testing progress across streams and providing regular reporting
• Experience with software change management
• Excellent communicator with the ability to build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong technical skills including writing test cases, SQL scripts etc
• Experience with API testing
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Coaching and leadership of others

Desirable Experience

• Financial services (WRAP platform, investment administration, KiwiSaver etc) experience
• Experience with test automation and tools an advantage
• Experience with AI tools and frameworks
• Experience working for a vendor
• Experience in Visual Studio, programming, web interfaces etc. would also be an advantage
