About the role:
Reporting through to our Merchandising Manager you will be an integral part of our friendly team of Buyers and a member of the Crackerjack family.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining new and existing relationships with suppliers to negotiate great deals for us to pass onto our customers
- Managing the product lifecycle from sourcing and procurement to delivery, sell through and reordering
- Analysing sales data and market trends to make informed decisions about product selection, pricing, and stock levels
- Working in conjunction with merchandising and marketing to create advertising campaigns for online catalogues and website
- Has a sound understanding of the price elasticity of demand.
- Experience in working in a trading environment.
- Staying updated on industry developments and regulations
- Building up your professional networks and industry/product knowledge by attending overseas buying trips and trade fairs
What are we looking for from you:
- Minimum four years previous experience as a Retail Buyer for a similar retailer
- Previous experience buying across a range of categories
- Proven analytical and negotiation skills – you'll share our love for finding a bargain for our customers
- A great team player, someone who is happy to pitch in and collaborate with their colleagues
- Good data entry & administration skills, you won't run a mile from an excel spreadsheet
- Great relationship management skills with customers and colleagues
- The ability to travel overseas three to four times a year on busy buying trips
- A creative eye and a knack for spotting winning products
