We are seeking a passionate Cardiologist with Electrophysiology expertise to join our dynamic team at Waitematā (North Shore Hospital and Waitakere Hospital)

About the Role

This part-time Senior Medical Officer position offers an exciting opportunity to:

  • Provide independent cardiology and electrophysiology support for inpatients and outpatients.
  • Manage outpatient clinics, patient assessments, and follow-up care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case reviews.
  • Dedicate time to research and contribute to cardiology innovation.
  • Join on-call rotations and ward referrals across North Shore and Waitakere Hospitals.

Our Cardiology Service delivers comprehensive care including cardiac MRI, CT, diagnostic angiography, and coronary interventions. Youll work alongside specialist consultants, advanced trainees, specialty nurses, and a skilled multidisciplinary team.

About You

We are looking for a clinician who:

  • Holds FRACP in Cardiology (or equivalent) and has completed an Electrophysiology Fellowship.
  • Is eligible for vocational/provisional vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
  • Brings recent experience in cardiology/electrophysiology and demonstrates strong leadership, teaching, and research capability.
  • Values cultural safety and understands the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
