Extrastaff are seeking a confident and experienced Class 5 Transporter Driver for a leading civil client in Christchurch. The successful candidate is someone who is a competent and confident driver / operator, with experience driving a transporter, someone who will get it right first time, every time, even under pressure.

The role

This role will be predominantly picking up and delivering machinery in and around Christchurch. You will need experience operating all manner of machines to load on and off the transporter and a good knowledge of restraint systems and relevant laws. Road ranger experience is essential. You may be required at times to do some digger work, or put on a tipper bin to help out the team. You must have a clean police check and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

  Key Responsibilities

  • Driving in the metro area as well as regional

     
  • Driving different classes of trucks dependent on job requirements

     
  • Loading/unloading a variety of equipment, sometimes oversize

     
  • Securing machinery to comply with load restraint laws

     

What you will bring to the table

  • Road ranger mastery
  • W,T.R (BESS will put you ahead of the rest)
     
  • Class 5 Licence with minimum 2 years experience driving a transporter
     
  • Clean driving record
     
  • Based in Christchurch or surrounds - only those already local will be considered
     
  • Excellent communication skills
     
  • Good level of physical fitness
  • A good sense of humour
